Dr Daman Ahuja

Dr. Daman Ahuja from Solan has made the city proud as four of his books have been selected for the World Book Fair. Dr. Ahuja, a renowned expert in public health and community work, has written four inspirational books that will be showcased at the fair. He stated that today’s youth are facing various types of mental pressures, such as pressure to perform well in studies, career pressure, pressure to succeed quickly, physical changes during puberty, and social and family pressures. To cope with these pressures, many young people start using drugs, alcohol, and cigarettes, which can lead to addiction. This, in turn, can cause problems at home, financial wastage, violence, HIV/AIDS, nutritional deficiencies, gender discrimination, patriarchal thinking, female feticide, suicide, theft, and social crimes.
Dr. Ahuja, the founder of Soham India, has worked with various social institutions, including UNICEF, Delhi University, National AIDS Control Organization, Population Foundation of India, PGI Chandigarh, and National Health Mission, over the past 30 years. He has written four books on these topics, which will be featured at the World Book Fair in Delhi from February 1 to 9. The books are:
- “Soham Se Bharat Yatra Tak” (Soham to India Journey), which aims to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS among youth across India. This book was awarded by the Haryana Sahitya Akademi.
- “Safalta Se Sarthakta Tak” (From Success to Fulfillment), which helps young people overcome depression.
- “Sajagta Ki Training” (Mindfulness Training), which provides training on mindfulness to promote health services.
- “Khushboo Ke Palon Ki Pension” (Pension of Fragrant Moments), which teaches how to choose positivity from various life experiences.
Dr. Ahuja’s participation in the World Book Fair is a matter of pride for Solan, and he deserves congratulations for this achievement.
